When muscles become chronically tight and tense, opposing muscles become weakened, producing  unnecessary wear and tear on various joint and structures within the body. Regular stretching helps the body to ensure the muscles on each side of a joint maintain an equal degree of pull so that the joint is able to move freely and efficiently in all directions, allowing for optimal movement and less stress on the body.

SHERYL

REGISTERED PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Her specialty is 100% hands on deep body therapy, listening and feeling deeply into the tissues, the condition of the structures involved and their effect on surrounding structures. She works mindfully with the person as a whole and with the different systems of the body as one can affect the other. She uses gentle but deep techniques to persuade movement into optimum placings and creating an optimum healing environment for the tissue’s own self-healing mechanism to work efficiently, aiming to bring the condition to pre-injury or better. Chronic residual pain or recurrent injuries can certainly benefit from this approach.


She derives her knowledge from two decades of work with children to the elderly, the condition of the body from one age group leading to the next, understanding where intervention in one phase can prevent problems in the next as there are early indications.
 

She herself has participated in many different sports, sea, land and snow, ball and racquet, fight and contact throughout the years and thus has a general understanding of the sporting requirements on the body and at differing age groups. She is currently active in volleyball and rugby.

VICTOR

REGISTERED PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Experienced UK-trained.

BSc (Hon) in Physiotherapy.

Understanding the root cause of the problem by educating his patients about their conditions and injury prevention is Victor's philosophy of practice.  Skilled in pain management, ergonomic / office based issues, sports injury and rehabilitation.  Extensive working experience in private clinics, big corporate and sports teams in UK and Hong Kong.  Hands on using Chinese (cupping and scrapping therapy) and Western (joint mobilisation, soft tissue release, exercise prescription) techniques.  With his expertise, Victor advocates for empowering patients to regain control on their conditions for effective long-term impact. 

ANDY
(SHOP MANAGER)

Experienced stretch therapist and personal trainer.  Certified intermediate Taekwondo Instructor.  Sports enthusiast, soccer, badminton and surfing.

VIS

Young, energetic and ready for challenges.

OUR SERVICES

COMING - Starting October 2020, we are levelling our scope and will be bringing physiotherapy services to weStretch.  Physiotherapy helps repair damage, reduce stiffness and pain, increase mobility and improve quality of life, aligning with weStretch's objective of "Extending Rangevity".  More information later about the background and skills of the two Registered Physiotherapists coming on board .

WE CARE - weStretch is a supporter of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund.  We recognise that the healthier and stronger you are, the more robust your immune system will be and the less vulnerable you are when it comes to diseases. Obesity is not only a sign of an unhealthy lifestyle, it is a contributing factor to cancer among other chronic health issues.  With a healthy diet and regular exercise, you are less at risk from cancer throughout your life.  For each stretching session we complete for our clients, we will donate HK$8 to Hong Kong Cancer Fund in support of its free cancer care services.
